Ron Stone, at 72 years old, died today after a battle with cancer. He was one of my heroes. We met when I was only 5, but his friendship has had a profound impact on my entire life. The Muscular Dystrophy Association brought us together- I was the state poster child and he was the lead anchor of the Jerry Lewis Telethon. He quickly became my "Uncle Ron", and one year he even went so far as to fly out to my house in a helicopter when I was recovering from surgery.
